Morning Chill V-Stitch Crochet Poncho FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Today we're going to talk about how you can make your very own poncho in V-stitch! Mine turned out beautiful, warm and jewel-toned! The yarn you choose will affect the look and feel of your project. I used a wool/acrylic blend that I really liked. I would love to see your creations! Please message me on insta or fb for assistance or if you see a mistake. ✨Caron Macchiato Cake (plan to use 2 cakes, I had very little left of the 2nd)

✨6.0mm hook

🌼V-Stitch: in the same stitch (DC, ch, DC)

🌼Corner Stitch: in one stitch (V-stitch, ch2, V-stitch)

🌼Ch3 counts as a DC. Ch4 counts as a (DC, ch).


1. Ch 90. Join into a ring with a slst. Ch 3, 89dc. Join with a slst. Place a stitch marker in #46, and move it up each row. Turn.

2. (Ch 4, DC) in the same st, skip2. *V-stitch, skip2. Repeat from * until stitch marker. In the stitch markers place, make one Corner Stitch.*V stitch, skip 2. Repeat from * to last stitch. In the first stitch you will finish the corner by making a V-stitch, ch2. Slst closed. Turn.

3. Slst twice to move to the other end of the ch2. (Ch 4, DC) in the same st, skip2. *V-stitch, skip2. Repeat from * until stitch marker. In the stitch markers place, make one Corner Stitch.*V-stitch, skip 2. Repeat from * to last stitch. Back in the first stitch you will finish the corner by making a V-stitch, ch2. Slst closed. Turn.

Repeat Row 3 until your project is the right length for you. I have 30 rows at this point. Then, complete a last row with 2sc in each ch1 space.
