A place to hang my hat
Hello and welcome to my slice of the internet! This is a blog related to fiber art, small business, and living our lives. We can be found on several socials, all of which can be found in our Linktree
I love those platforms, but also wanted more of a longform space for news, pattern round up's, pattern reviews, and to offer my own free patterns.
I'm most active on Facebook, where I also post some life stuff:) buy custom requests should come through Messages on Etsy.

Want to get started crocheting? I think the best first project is a cotton washcloth. Even if it's not perfect, it'll be functional and give you a wonderful chance to practice slipknots, chains, and single crochet. I have made myself many washcloths and they outlast the store bought scrubbies and cloths, but aren't as damaging. If you have access to a Walmart or craft store you'll probably have access to affordable cotton yarn (Lily Sugar N Cream, or Peaches N Cream yarn). It is not the best yarn available, but it's affordable and makes durable and pretty washcloths that'll last you a long time. This yarn is also suitable for hot pads (do not use acrylic for projects that must take heat.)
There are some tools you'll want first.
There are many different crochet hooks available. This is the exact set that I personally use. I really love the silicone grippers, combined with the strength of metal hooks. I'm totally guilty of breaking a plastic hook. I also have bamboo, but there can be imperfections that snag yarn so I recommend the metal Boye hooks instead. As you expand your skills you will likely collect a lot of different hooks!
